Life After Life tells the story of Ursula Todd, a woman growing up in the early 20th century. What’s unique about Ursula is that she dies at various points in her life and is born again each time. My mom told me she got whiplash when she read this book. I definitely understand her sentiment, however, it wasn’t so much Ursula that spoke to me but more so the bond she had with her family. I really enjoyed reading about Ursula’s relationships with her mom, dad and siblings. The way they all interacted felt very real to me. Life After Life certainly doesn’t rank as one of my top books of all time, however, it was good enough for me to begin the companion novel, A God in Ruins.
