On the third day of our trip to Berlin we took one of those hop on hop off bus tours. It was awesome. We got to see a lot of the city and get off wherever we wanted. You know what that means? Finding even MORE great places to shop!

I love this sweater. The color is amazing. My parents absolutely hated it… the fuzz went everywhere. I would run around screaming, “I fuzzed you”. Yep, I’m five going on six.

Every morning, here in NYC, I go to my local Dunkin and get my large, 32 oz Iced Coffee (skim milk, one splenda please). In Berlin, like NYC, there’s a Starbucks on EVERY corner. This satisfied my mom who is a Starbucks-aholic (unfortunately there’s no rehab for this yet). I, on the other hand, was devastated. Then one day, we’re casually walking around, and I spot the Dunkin, hidden right by our hotel!
Conversation at Dunkin went a little something like this:
G- “Hi can I get a large Iced coffee with skim milk”?
“???”
G- “Whole milk”?
“ok”
G- “and splenda…”?
“?!?!?!??!?!??!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!”
Andddddd, after all of that, the coffee is what we New Yorkers like to call, a small (or as my mom would say, a tall).
Ah, back to what I’m really good at… shopping. Another great spot to hit up in Berlin is Alexanderplatz. It’s interesting to see another city’s mall.
Hot Shops There Include:
1) Oasis (it was an area within a larger department store which I do not know the name of, sowwy)
2) Zara
They had an exhibition of all these bears in Berlin… it was cute. They were all painted to represent different countries. My favorite, if you can’t guess already, was the U.S. bear which was painted like the Statue of Liberty! Unfortunately, we didn’t get a shot of it, but it was awesome. U.S.A. represent!
Last, but certainly not least, is one of the best shopping streets in Berlin, Kurfurstendamm. Talk about good stores. To list a few:
1) Zara (better than the Alexanderplatz one… sorry but it’s true)
2) Mango
3) COS (yes, I went into two COS’s within the span of 48 hours)
4) Bear souvenir shop (it was gorgeous, I wish I had gotten a bear statue)
We spent half the day searching for the KaDeWe, which is Berlin’s version of Bloomingdales or Nordstrom. Although we got lost going there, and walked around an extra 20 mins, it was TOTALLY worth the search. The store was amazing and I scored the best pair of boots. Not only were they gorgeous, but my mom bought the same ones (awesomeness) and they were made in Berlin! Best souvenir ever.
