It’s hard to fully understand the impact of Sandy until you’ve seen the damage first hand. Today the BF and I helped a friend clean up, what remains of their house, after oily water sat their, stagnant, for days. The floors were warped, all personal possessions ruined; it was really a sight to behold. 

Although it has already been two weeks (to this day) that Sandy hit us, thousands are still feeling the impact of the storm weeks later. 

Listen, I do want you to donate to the Red Cross (as other bloggers have suggested). But I think an even more meaningful experience is really getting out there and seeing the impact first hand. 

VOLUNTEER. 

You don’t know how much a helping hand is needed until you’re actually there. And let me tell you, nothing is better than helping someone who really needs it.
