Bracelets are my jam

I was instantly drawn to Alicia's leather bracelets when I saw them on her Instagram. I shied away from purchasing Sylvan Park's bracelets, not because of their price, but because of their size - I wasn't sure the bracelets would fit my wrists. Lucky for me I found another brand, Nickel & Suede, that sold very similar bracelets in various sizes and for half the price - it was quite the win. These bracelets are great because they really go with everything - it's hard to go wrong with black leather.

I always aim to shop from independent designers, especially when purchasing jewelry, so I'm particularly happy to write about both of these shops.

Eileen Fisher Fall 2015

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Eileen Fisher is at the top of my favorite fall lookbooks for the season. Each piece is classic and I love how the items can be mixed and matched.

My mom bought me a few pieces for the fall and I'm smitten. I particularly love the cropped white chunky sweater.

This collection has me looking forward to the chillier season.

Abe's Muffins

Monday, September 21, 2015

As I gain more responsibility at work it becomes harder and harder to maintain my blog. I've contemplated putting the blog aside but I still enjoy sharing and writing about what I love. Though it is a struggle to find time to write, I am trying to trudge forward.

To start off my blogging return I want to talk about a great dairy free breakfast/dessert, Abe's Muffins. I discovered Abe's while browsing through Whole Foods (one of my favorite activities). I purchased the chocolate chip muffins and fell head over heels in love. Even my dad and BF can't tell that they're dairy free - that's when you know you've hit the jackpot

Pitusa

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

It's hard to believe that the summer has come to an end. To close out the season I wanted to review one of my favorite cover-up brands, Pitusa. Pitusa's dresses are incredibly unique and come in a variety of vibrant, eye-popping, colors. I also love the fabric detail on each item.

While it seems a little late in the year to be posting about swimsuit cover-ups, there's always winter break to plan for!

Life After Life

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

Life After Life tells the story of Ursula Todd, a woman growing up in the early 20th century. What's unique about Ursula is that she dies at various points in her life and is born again each time. My mom told me she got whiplash when she read this book. I definitely understand her sentiment, however, it wasn't so much Ursula that spoke to me but more so the bond she had with her family. I really enjoyed reading about Ursula's relationships with her mom, dad and siblings. The way they all interacted felt very real to me.

Life After Life certainly doesn't rank as one of my top books of all time, however, it was good enough for me to begin the companion novel, A God in Ruins
