I love being able to see how people used to live. As a huge World War Two buff I was incredibly excited to visit Pearl Harbor. I had no idea what to expect and I was completely blown away by how much there was to see and learn.
One of my favorite parts about visiting Pearl Harbor was being able to experience what it felt like to live and work on a submarine. My family and I took a self-guided tour of the U.S.S. Bowfin. It's hard to believe that 80 men lived in such a confined space for any amount of time.
Visiting the U.S.S. Bowfin has further piqued my fascination with World War Two. As a result, I spent much of my vacation watching the documentary, The War, by Ken Burns. My parents told me there is a great World War Two museum in New Orleans - I think that has to be one of our next trips.
