Whenever I travel I always find a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives restaurant to eat at. Fresh Catch, in Honolulu, is hands down the best Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives restaurant I've visited. It also happens to be one of my favorite restaurants ever. I find that hole-in-the wall restaurants are often the tastiest.
The fish at Fresh Catch is top notch and the prices are inexpensive. If this place were located by where I work I would eat there for lunch everyday. Fresh Catch serves the perfect dish - a fresh fish poke alongside white rice. For those of you who don't know what poke is, I like to think of it as a Hawaiian ceviche.
I'm so sad that Fresh Catch doesn't have an outpost in NYC. I'm tempted to write the owner and beg him to open a restaurant close to my office. If he happens to be reading this I promise a location in NYC would be lucrative because I would support it - everyday.
