Paris vs. New York

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

I love fashion, and shopping, for the deals.
Where there's a $45.00 t-shirt there is always its $15.00 counterpart.

Trends may come and go, but a good find is here to stay

Shirt: Sandro, Dress: Gap, Bag: Madewell, Sunglasses: Madewell, Shoes: Madewell

The BF and I are creatures of habit

On Saturdays, you'll find us at a movie matinee.
During the week, you may run into us at dinner in Koreatown

Perhaps you'll see me on the street sipping my newest addiction, Taro bubble tea.

Living in NYC makes all our favorite things possible and I love it.

The Cuckoo's Calling

Monday, October 28, 2013

I was really excited to read a novel by JK Rowling that wasn't part of the Harry Potter series. My big question was, could she write another hit?

I have to say, I forgot who I was reading, and for that, I'm impressed.

However, I found the novel overly complicated.
So much so, I wondered if JK was just doing it to prove that she could.

The Cuckoo's Calling is a mystery novel surrounding the death of a famous model, Lula Landry. We follow a private detective, Strike, as he tries to navigate what happened the night of Lula's "suicide". We also get some insight into Strike's personal life.

There were lots of twists and turns in this book that kept me reading.

Is this novel the next Harry Potter?
Hell no.
But it is a decent page turner well-suited for a relaxing vacation read.

Sunglasses: Madewell, Sweater: Old Navy, Bag: c/o Lulus.com, Pants: Eileen Fisher, Shoes: Madewell

I have become a huge fan of intarsia sweaters.
Last winter, I searched high and low for the perfect one.

Now, you can't go to a store without running into several of them.

This foxy number was a purchase from Old Navy last Winter.
They also created a similar sweater, this season, that is much more whimsical.

I like my foxes serious, so I'm glad I own this one.

The Stud

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

For my high-school graduation my grandmother gave me a pair of diamond studs.
It's now seven years later and I still wear them everyday.

This past week I realized I hadn't taken the earrings off in over five days.
After coming to this realization, I was scared they had molded to my ear.
Not to worry, ear-lobes and earrings are doing just fine.

A pair of good stud earrings is a necessity in any wardrobe and Anjolee.com has just the right selection.

I suggest if you're stud-less, you do yourself a favor and buy a pair.

Meme Mediterranean

Monday, October 21, 2013

I will always be an Upper Westside girl at heart, however, no one does brunch like the West Village. The variety of food in that neighborhood never ceases to amaze me.

Recently, a friend suggested we visit Meme Mediterranean for brunch.
I'm a very adventurous eater, so I was happy to try out a new cuisine.

When I return, I definitely want to go for dinner.
One of my friends opted for lunch, instead of brunch, and got the chicken tagine.

I'm glad my friend is gluten free because I got to have every last bite of couscous.

It was yummy.

Necklace: DIY, Sweater: LF, Dress: American Apparel, Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, Leggings: American Apparel, Boots: Zara

Somedays I walk out of the apartment and look down to realize I'm wearing all black
I guess I'm much more of a New Yorker than I even realize.

Incorporating color into my wardrobe is definitely a goal of mine for winter.
We'll start with the bag and go from there.
