Manhattan Diner

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

Our moving date is finally upon us and it's time to say goodbye to our home for the past three years. While it is sad to be leaving, I am really excited for this new chapter.

In fact, what will be hardest to part with is not the apartment itself but the neighborhood!
Our favorite spot in particular, Manhattan Diner, will certainly feel a loss in their profits when we're gone. Over the past three years we have eaten there at least twice a week (if not more).

My favorite thing about this diner is their delicious breakfast specials.
We're very anxious to see if a diner near our new place will live up to what we're used to.

However, the best part about living in NYC, is that no matter where you are, you're never really far away from anything.

Sunglasses: Rag and Bone, Tee: Vintage, Pants: Current/Elliot, Bag:, Shoes: c/o, Necklace: Grandmother's

I had been dying for a good pair of oxfords and these Wanted ones are ideal.
I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing them all winter long.

I'm also tempted to buy them in black.

A girl can never have too many shoes!

Karen Walker who?

I have officially found the next best thing in sunglasses.

I have been dying for the Karen Walker Super Duper Strength sunglasses, however, $280.00 is an exorbitant amount of money.

Is it just me, or have her prices increased?

Anywho, thank God for Friday night stalking because I found Quay, the wallet friendly alternative to my sunglass problem.

$39.95 for each pair.
Now that I can afford.

Don't worry, you can thank me later.

Sunglasses: Ray Ban, Necklace 1: Forever 21, Necklace 2: David Yurman, Jacket: American Eagle, Tank: Forever 21, Pants: Uniqlo, Shoes: Salt Water, Bag: Balenciaga

Our moving date is finally upon us.
The BF and I are headed to a one bedroom this Thursday!

While I'm incredibly excited, I also feel beyond stressed about packing (only to unpack again). However, remembering all the closets, and that wonderful thing you call a door, makes me giddy.

No more sports for this girl!

Instant Favorite

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

This is not a necklace I thought I would have liked.
However, when I tried it on at the BaubleBar pop-up shop, I fell in love.

I currently own it in yellow (a different color than I'm used to).
I'm now eyeing the other colors and I'm tempted to buy a second.

Now I just have to decide, lilac or peony

Sunglasses: Rag and Bone, Scarf: Etro c/o Harrods, Tee: Stylemint, Shorts: American Eagle, Bag: Vanessa Bruno, Shoes: Repetto

One of the best things about blogging is being your own boss
I get to pick what does and does not make the blog.
In some ways, I'm a curator of fashion.

When I was contacted to represent Harrods on Fashionable Collections, I didn't hesitate in saying yesHarrods is one of my all time favorite department stores.
Thinking of it brings back wonderful memories of my trip to London as a kid.

Being asked to style a silk scarf was a little out of my comfort zone, but damn have I been missing out!

This scarf is a great accessory and adds an awesome pop of color to my outfit while not being too thick or too heavy.

I'm excited to continue to experiment with it as NY begins to change seasons.

These books need to stop being so good.

What am I supposed to do now that they are both done? I tried to put the second novel, Insurgent, at bay for as long as I could but I couldn't not read (it was that good).

One chapter turned into 10 chapters and then just like that (I'm snapping my fingers) it was done

These books are like a drug
The first step is to admit you have a problem

I'm addicted to young adult novels.

While I can't go into too much detail about this book without giving away what happens in Divergent, I will say we still follow the same main characters.

Imagine that Lost and the Hunger Games had a baby.

That baby would be Insurgent

Do you think if I whine enough on this blog Deborah Roth will publish the third book sooner? Or is that just wishful thinking?

I'm freaking desperate here. I'm having flashbacks to my Harry Potter days and I'm not liking it one bit.

And to follow up on last week's post, I will be purchasing the third installment in the hopes that it gets uploaded to my kindle the moment it hits the stands.

What can I say? I'm actually in love.

Sunglasses: Ray Ban, Tee: American Apparel, Dress: Topshop, Bag: Baggu, Shorts: American Apparel, Shoes: Converse, Necklace: Lucky Brand

I want to be the first to acknowledge that this dress makes me look fat.
I'm 95% sure someone offered me their seat on the subway thinking I was pregnant.

I am not pregnant.

However, this dress was a great choice to wear in the unbearable heat.

My friend and I had the brilliant idea of going vintage shopping on Saturday in the 96 degree weather.
I know I'm whining here but intense heat in NYC is painful
The last shop we went to had no air-conditioning, and I was so over-heated, I decided to frolic in the water from the fire hydrant.

Best idea I had all day.

While it did feel like we were walking in a sauna, I had a wonderful time. I scored two vintage rompers, one tie-dyed tee and an awesome floral skirt.

Also, I finally visited Catbird jewelry and got two knuckle rings.

This adventure was just what the doctor ordered.
