Beautiful Boy

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

It is one thing to inherit items from your grandmother, it is quite another to inherit them from your 30 year old cousin.
Everyday I will wear a piece from him, and as I've said time and time again, he will never be forgotten.

There won't be a day that goes by that I won't think of him.
But he wouldn't have wanted this; he wouldn't have wanted me to stall my life forever. He was so proud of everything I did, including this blog.

I want you all to know that while my content in the future may not reflect my sadness I am still heartbroken and will be so for a while. But I can't go on like this everyday or else I will never get any better and my beautiful cousin wouldn't have wanted that.

I'm not trying to lie to you in my new posts, that I'm happy and everything is fine (when it isn't), but if I don't try to get back to normal I never will.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support through this immensely difficult time. Your kind comments and emails have meant the world to me and my family.

I miss him so much I ache but in honor of him, and his struggle, I must go on.
I'll love you always.

My heart breaks for you, but I have to say I am inspired by your determination to keep living a life that your cousin will be proud of.
