It's amazing what you can learn about a person just by looking at their possessions.

These are the items I took of my grandmother's. She had so much New Mexican inspired jewelry and I had no idea she even had an interest in that culture. It's something we shared that I found out too late.

When my grandmother was alive she gave the Tiffany&Co bracelet (featured above) to my cousin. After she passed, he called me to tell me he had the bracelet for me. It has her initials, P.W.A, engraved on the heart. I wear it almost everyday now.

Incorporating this jewelry into my wardrobe was easy, as it seems my grandma and I shared the same taste. Regardless of that, the best part of wearing the items, is feeling like a piece of her is with me wherever I go.

It's funny because I remember having one of these Tiffany&Co heart bracelets when I was younger. If you asked me earlier this year if I'd ever wear one again I probably would have said, "hell no". Now that I have this one, it seems silly that I wasn't wearing my own all the time. Perhaps out of date to some, it really does make the best addition to my arm party.

I think what I've learned from this experience is that what's old is definitely new again.

Winter Shorts

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

Outfit One- Turtleneck: J. Crew, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Shorts: Madewell, Shoes: Madewell, Earrings: Jewelmint, Vest: American Eagle, Bag: Prada
Outfit Two- Necklace: Jewelmint, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Bag: Coach, Shorts: Madewell, Sweatshirt: Forever 21, Shoes: Madewell

I have seasonal fashion disorder. It's a very serious disease, often treated with tights, tights and more tights. I refuse to believe that items are seasonal (aside from coats and sweaters).

What about shorts you ask?

Layer those babies up.
In my opinion, that's what tights are for. I'm almost sure that's a song...

But honestly, I get sad when I'm told an item is only for one season. Instead of saying NO lets say YES.

Yes, most items can be worn in all seasons. Yes, shorts and tights work for winter.

Let's get those creative juices flowing.

If the Legacy Collection were a person, I'd say to it, "Stop it. You are SO fabulous".

I realize that I'm about two seasons too late on this but...

An ultraviolet canteen bag?
STOP IT. You are so FAB-U-LOUS

I think this line was designed with me in mind. It's like Coach got into my head and created everything I could have ever wanted in any bag silhouette... EVER.

Did I mention that it's ultraviolet?

I saw this bag in person on a friend, ogled over it, and next thing you know, it's in my Macy's checkout bag.

Worse things could happen.

Necklace: DIY, Sweatshirt: Hanes, Stole: Vintage, Bag: Chanel, Skirt: Forever 21, Boots: Diva Lounge

Your eyes are not decieving you, these boots are made by a company named Diva Lounge.
They were $20.00 and the name IS funny to say.

These are my priorities. Literally.

BTW I met the man version of myself, last night, in Quentin Tarantino.

Peace out.

Cardigan: Vintage, Tee: Forever 21, Jeans: Current/Elliott, Shoes: American Eagle, Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Scarf: Unknown, Earrings: Dannijo, Rings: Poshlocket, American Eagle, London Jewelers, YSL, Pandora, Bracelets: Dannijo, Tiffany&Co

I was dinosaur obsessed when I was young, so when I saw this tank on Forever 21 I thought it would be the perfect addition to my wardrobe.

I often like to pretend I'm too cool for school, but even I could not be dissuaded from watching the Oscars tonight. I'm incredibly impressed with the gorgeous dresses that walked down the red carpet. I'm pretty sure this is the best set of gowns to date.

My favorite to win tonight?
Anne Hathaway.
25% because I loved her in Les Miserables and 75% because I'm obsessed.

Hey Alex

No one, NO ONE does studs like A. Wang. I have a stud obsession. If I see them, I want them. But nothing makes me happier than the studs on the bottom of my Alexander Wang bags.

I walk around the streets stroking them.

I sit at my desk staring at them.

Can these babies please, PLEASE, be adorned to every and anything?
That's my first wish for when I find the Genie in the bottle.

Beanie: J. Crew, Top: J. Crew (men's), Jeans: Uniqlo, Bag: Alexander Wang, Sneakers: Converse

I can't keep up with all you bloggers who have constant thoughts and witty philosophical opinions.

Sometimes a girl is just tired.

Sometimes there's nothing to say.

And sometimes all I want to do is dream of cupcakes I cannot have.

Quote authors I will never be as eloquent as.

Dress like I live in Brooklyn... when I don't.

Because of the whole whirlwind around a certain NYT article (The Circus of Fashion), I feel I have to start this post off with a quick explanation.

These features, and any features on just articles of clothing or accessories, are items I purchase myself. Any views expressed in my posts are my own opinions (unless otherwise specified with a "sponsored by" at the bottom of the post).
As much as I like to think I'm famous, I'm not. And this girl right here (that's me I'm referring to) works damn hard to buy my favorite goodies. If I EVER receive anything for free you will see a c/o in front of the product, otherwise, I pay for it all by myself (with the occasional gift from the BF).

Have you figured it out yet?
I'm materialistic.
And I'm not ashamed.

To continue on this materialism bend, let me introduce you to the blazer.
If you haven't noticed, I'm not a blazer person (it's a trend I just could not get behind).
And then, this reality TV star (who I secretly love) came out with this ridiculously fabulous line for Kohls.

The only blazers I'm likely to wear?

Style secret #1 revealed.

You can now proceed to the next round.

Sweater: Madewell, Skirt: Zara, Shoes: Oasap, Bag: Alexander Wang, Bracelets: Forever 21, Tiffany&Co, c/o Poshlocket, BaubleBar, David Yurman, Eswera

These shoes are my first and last purchase from Oasap.com. I rarely review sites on here but I feel this experience deserves a rant.

Firstly, Oasap.com is RIDICULOUSLY expensive for a place that doesn't sell any type of brand. I know there's a huge stigma behind "brand name" clothing, and I'm not trying to say that some brand-less sites* (such as Sheinside.com) aren't good. But this site is one of those that just doesn't nail it.
*money saving suggestion: only purchase from these type of sites if it is recommended by someone.

So, after paying a fortune for these shoes, they come delivered to me in a completely different color than what I ordered. I mean, the shoes I'm wearing here were not what was pictured (or described) when I clicked purchase. And yes, I read the drop down list and selected the color that matched the picture. STILL, I managed to get a completely different shoe.

Oasap's solution to the problem? Send me a 20% off coupon for my next purchase (which will never happen).
What I would have liked?
How about the correct pair of shoes?

And the icing on the cake? These shoes were worn once (as pictured above) and after a day of walking in them, the sole has completely come unglued and the cork part has smushed (that is a professional term).

Listen, I know I ain't no stick, but damn, I was hoping these shoes could support my weight.

I'm sure that Prada's wedges would not do the same.

My verdict?

Unless you're receiving free clothing from Oasap as a blogger, don't waste your time OR money on this site.
