First and foremost, my comments section was messed up the past two days. WTF! I think I've gotten it back to normal so hopefully I can get some love again, *tear*. It's so lonely out in cyberspace without all of you guys.

Secondly, I'm wearing my most prized possession here (or at least one of them)... can you guys guess what it is? Did I hear someone type Chanel (clearly I couldn't hear that  at all, I know I'm crazy). That's right, it's my Chanel bag! I got it for my 18th birthday. I'm pretty sure I cried when I opened the package.  Barbs and Ricky are damn good at the presents thing, loves it.

I have a little soft spot for Wildfox. Gotta love their stuff.

Nothing is wrong with me I swear, I was trying to jump on camera! The pictures above are what was captured before the actual jump itself. Of course these are the pics that survived. Clearly the last one is one of my favorites of all time. I have to start collecting all of these bad boys and make them into a slideshow of my best moments.

I'm loving Pandora, I know I'm late by about five years. But can I help that I'm a little slow? What's most important is that I'm thoroughly enjoying it now.

Despite what you all may be thinking right now, that leopard thing is a dress, a short dress but a dress at that. You only live once, right?

I am currently in East Hampton at my parent's summer house hanging with family, and friends that feel like family. I'm really enjoying my time here, even more than I ever have. As a kid I always lived in another part of the island so coming out here was great but felt like an extension of home. Now when I'm here (since I live full time in the city) I feel like I'm on vacation! It's wonderful.

The skirt I'm wearing here I bought at Forever 21 ages ago. It's a little washed out but I still love the pattern. And there's really no better price than Forever 21.

Madewell shirt, Abercrombie and Fitch belt, J. Crew shoes, Forever 21 skirt

That's right. I'm a professional at this. My poses improve with every post. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but Tyra called and asked me to give pointers on America's Next Top Model.

Anywho, I do have an exciting surprise to announce later this week which I'm very excited about. Also, I found the best pair of Isabel Marant look-a-like booties from Steve Madden. Can't wait!

Towards the end of this week I will start my second packing series to display my packing skills employed on this vacation. I'm becoming quite an expert. My mom would be so proud.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

For once in my life I don't have much to say. Let me just leave you with these parting words of wisdom.

1. I had a wonderful day (not wisdom I know, actually most of these won't be wisdom just commentary)
2. I had to say goodbye to Oprah today, but she left me with tons of encouragement and tears, so be sure to watch her last episode for those words of wisdom I promised but am not giving
3. I've become obsessed with this song called Dragonfly on Bay Street by Ron Sexsmith
4. Yes, his name is Sexsmith, it makes the song that much more amazing
5. The BF asked me if this was the bat pose, silly BF... this is the Monkey, obviously!

Shirt and Skirt Part 3

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

The last in the saga of the Shirt and the Skirt. Here, clearly, I'm only wearing the shirt. Seriously, if you think I'm wearing a skirt here we have big issues then peeps! I bought these jeans when I went on a shopping trip with my friend about three months ago. I brought them home and literally a week later every blogger had them. Whatevs, I really like them. They're comfy (really my number one requirement) and they're an awesome color. Oh yea, they also have a side zipper. Loves it.

Chaser LA t-shirt, House of Harlow necklace, Zara jeans, J. Crew boots, Alexander Wang bag

You're probably wondering, "where did they get that wonderful paper mache duck"? I made it! I'm so talented, I know. I was 8. They knew I was a genius from a young age. What more can I say?

From Left to Right: China Town, YSL, YSL, David Yurman, Dannijo DIY, Tiffanys, Forever 21, Hermes

Don't you just love the contemplative photos? You all probably think I'm thinking something profound... come on guys don't you know me by now? I'm watching TV sillies!

My dad bought me the blue YSL ring about a week ago. I can't take it off. My hands are so much happier wearing two YSL rings (they're the most spoiled hands). When I was younger my babysitter used to call me fat fingers (it was endearing to me people so no need to aww for me)... THUS I need these pretty rings to make my fat fingers less ugly.

Yep, I just talked about fat fingers on my blog. That did happen.

Shirt and Skirt Part 2

Here continues the story of the shirt and the skirt. In these photographs they're together and clearly in love. Who would have thought that a holely shirt could look so good with a tailored (yet fun skirt). This shirt is very comfortable and lets in a nice breeze. It keeps me nice and refreshed with all those holes... I can never get too warm! Actually, the day of these photographs it was freezing out but I tried to put on my best brave the cold face.

Chaser LA t-shirt, J. Crew belt, Zara skirt, J. Crew shoes

These photos are actually some of my favorites I've ever taken. I really love the background and the compositions. My Pops is so talented! Also, I really can't believe how beautiful the landscaping is. It remains stunning even with all this rain, a testament to my dad's landscaping talents.

All good things must come to an end and tomorrow is the third and last part of my weekend packing tales. I'll have more to show next week after this weekend's festivities. I'm going to my summer house in East Hampton for Memorial Day. I can't wait!

Shirt and Skirt

Sunday, May 22, 2011

This is the story of a shirt and a skirt. This weekend I went home to my parent's house... back to my roots where I grew up! This summer I'm going to be traveling a lot back and forth on the weekends to Long Island so I have to learn to pack light. For the next three days you'll see my outfit choices from this weekend. Some items are repeated but I think it's nice to see how one can mix and match the same things to make three different outfits! As my Mama would say, "Gaby, you're not going to bring everything you own are you? Remember you're only going away for a weekend". I've finally taken her advice, she'd be so proud.

So back to this story of a shirt and a skirt. In these photographs I'm only wearing the skirt. It's from Zara and I'm in love. It actually has an interesting history. I was thinking of sharing my long winded story of this skirt but I really don't want to pain you with all the details. Let's just say it was a long and hard search, but I found it, and now I'm in love with a skirt. It's an issue. If you read my blog regularly you can tell that I love a lot of different articles of clothing but this skirt really does hold a special place in my heart, *tear*.

When I was younger, during my angsty years, I used to come out to this swing set and swing on the swings, listening to music, trying to figure out how I was going to woo my next boyfriend. Well now I have the BF and I'm a little less angsty (a little more heavy) and I rarely swing for fear that the swing-set will collapse under my weight.  However, sometimes I do brave it, and go out there to remember all those times spent dreaming.

A little sneak peak of tomorrow's post. It's the shirt and skirt together... I think they like each other. It was a little overcast for these pictures but you get the drift. I must admit my Papa did a wonderful job with the landscaping of our house. Here I can't help but smell the roses (and by roses I mean whatever flower this is).

Have to give a little shout out to my Dad who is the resident photographer when I'm home. Thanks Pops!

My junior year of college I went on a shopping spree online at Forever 21. This blouse was one of my purchases. My shopping spree was like $100.00 and I got a million things because it's Forever 21 and it's amazing. I really love the print on this top and love, love, love the kimono-esque sleeves.

Electric blue shoes = perfection.... need I say more?

Had to save this photograph for last seeing as it's the best one. I call this pose The Bat. Yep, they call me Tyra I'm so good.

BKLYN

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

This weekend was amazing. Steffy, of SteffysProsandCons, came to NYC and we met up! It's insane because we met via blogging but it honestly feels like we've been friends for so long. Shopping and talking together came so naturally and we had an amazing time. It's always great when you find another close friend! Also, as many of you know, Steffy is amazing at finding the best thrift treasures so I was VERY excited when she took me to this amazing thrift store in Bklyn. I got three skirts for... ready for it.... $22.00! Serious insanity. I absolutely love the skirts as well. I can't wait to feature them on the blog! I'll try and take pictures this weekend.

I somewhat coerced my BF into buying me this Philip Lim jacket last summer (and by coerced I mean forced). It was on sale for the most amazing price at Scoop and I thought it would be a unique piece that could go with almost anything. I'm very glad I'm so convincing. I absolutely love this jacket, especially that it has cargo-esque details. It's awesome.

Urban Outfitters hat, Madewell romper, Philip Lim jacket, J. Crew booties and J. Crew bag

This last pic is of all of us. Steffy's brother Matt and her friend Tara joined us. It was really a fun time. We went to this amazing ice cream shop by St Marks Place. OMG, I had the chocolate peanut butter in a cone, seriously I could have died it was so good. I have to go back there asap.

I know I've been absolutely horrible with responding to comments but I promise I will get back to them within the next couple of days. Forgive me! I'm trying to get back in the swing of things.

BTW lets properly acknowledge the fact that my camera is nothing compared to Steffy's. I mean the quality of these photographs is incredible. If my camera took pictures like this idk what I'd do with myself. Seriously, I'd be so happy. A better camera is DEFINITELY on the top of my birthday/Christmas list (yes I'll have to wait a very long time... my bday is in December too). At least these pictures hint at what my blog could be... *tear* Some day!

Green Monster

Monday, May 16, 2011

I honestly couldn't resist purchasing this shirt. I know it's all over the blog-o-sphere/ the world but I absolutely love it! The shoulder detail, the green and black stripes... I mean Beetle Juice himself couldn't have made a better shirt.

Don't you just love my diaper shorts? Yes, that's right... I said it... diaper shorts. They're seriously insanely comfortable and oh-so-baggy, a girl's dream (and by a girl, I mean me). I just managed to write a sentence with two "ly" ending words in a row... these shorts are just that great people!

Zara blouse, House of Harlow necklace, Current Elliot shorts and Target shoes

I wish I could tell you what I was doing here but once again I'm acting a fool for no apparent reason. It's why people love me I think; standing next to me they're instantly cooler (by comparison obviously because I'm so bizarre). BTW I'm attempting to read the N (new) Y (york) T (times) now every day on the subway. That's right people, I can read. Believe me I'm just as shocked as you are. I'm trying to keep up with current events so if in the future someone were to mention something, I may actually know what it is. Me actually retaining any of this knowledge is an unlikely occurrence, but honestly who knows what could happen!

Get used to the abbreviation NYT I'm going to try and use it a lot more on this blog. Relaying my vast knowledge of current events here will make me feel somewhat accomplished (HA even I had to laugh at that one).

On a sadder note, ABC cancelled Brothers and Sisters and, although no one cares, (clearly the reason why they cancelled it, I was the sole watcher) I'm devastated and will have to take to watching a Netflix marathon.
